German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development

The German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development (GIF) has been active in supporting research cooperation between Israel and Germany since 1986.

Our objective is to promote and fund basic and applied scientific research projects for peaceful purposes in all fields of research, to strengthen peoples and advance the state of scientific research and development to the benefit of both countries.

GIF Regular Program

The GIF Regular Program supports cooperative research projects conducted jointly by German and Israeli scientists. Each project should include at least one team from each country. The head of each team is to be specified as Principal Investigator (PI) in the application. . .

GIF Young Scientists’ Program

The GIF Young Scientists’ Program aims to encourage young scientists and help them establish first contacts with potential counterparts in Israel or Germany. The program supports researchers up to the age of 40 (at the starting date of the grant) within 7 years after completing their Ph.D.. . .
