GIF-Leibniz Meeting „Post Corona: Smart Photonic and Molecular Technologies to Combat Infectious Diseases”
At the first GYSM organized jointly by GIF and the Leibniz Association, German and Israeli early career researchers met at Kibbutz Ma’ale HaHamisha, Israel.
The program of the interdisciplinary workshop on “smart photonic and molecular technologies to combat infectious diseases”, designed by the scientific committee Prof. Jürgen Popp (Leibniz IPHT), Prof. Dror Fixler (Bar Ilan University), Prof. Ohad Gal-Mor (Sheba Medical Center), and Prof. Ulrich Schaible (Research Center Borstel), gave the participants the opportunity to learn about and discuss each others’ work and make connections for future scientific cooperation.
Keynote lectures were given by Prof. Moti Segev, Technion and Prof. Matthias Merker, Research Center Borstel.
The lecture program was complemented by an evening event with a podium discussion moderated by Leibniz President Matthias Kleiner and a culinary tour Jerusalem’s Machne Yehuda market.
