ATHENE launches German-Israeli research cooperation on cyber security in the energy sector
ATHENE and the Israeli Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the State of Israel have initiated a three-year collaborative research program. Researchers from Israeli universities will collaborate with ATHENE researchers in order to develop solutions for cybersecurity challenges in the energy sector.
To mark the beginning of this research collaboration, a workshop was held at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main on May 6, 2024.
ATHENE and the German Energy Agency (dena) organized the workshop, which brought together researchers from Israel and Germany. Over 40 participants representing research, industry, and government sectors from both countries participated in the event, which was chaired by ATHENE scientist Prof. Haya Schulmann.
The GIF Director was honored to have been invited to participate in the kick-off meeting of the German-Israeli workshop. Participating in the workshop provided him with an opportunity to interact with fellow participants and gain insight into their expertise. Eric had a first meeting with the Minister of Science of Hesse, the Director of Athene, the VP of Research at Goethe University, and a senior representative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
